MCA ENTRANCE

1. All India MCA Common Entrance Test (AIMCET) 2009

All India MCA Common Entrance Test is a comprehensive examination conducted by IITs for the students aspiring to do master of computer applications.

Eligibility criteria of AIMCET

1. The candidate must be of Indian nationality.
2. The candidate must also have passed class 12th examination in any stream with mathematics as a main subject.
3. The candidate should also be a graduate with at least 3-year degree.
4. The candidate appearing for the final year examination can also apply for MCA examination.

2. Computer Awareness - 40 Questions
3. Analytical ability & Logical Reasoning - 40 Questions

2. National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2009

National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier Technical Institutions of National repute and are fully funded by Government of India. The Curricula and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by NITs are designed considering the need of different Software Houses in India and abroad and has a high job potential in IT Sector. The NIMCET is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by NITs for admission to their MCA Program.

The general eligibility to write NIMCET is the same for all NITs. Admission criteria and fee structure may differ from one Institute to the other.

Mode of Examination

The NIMCET examination will be for duration of two hours and consists of 120 multiple-choice questions with four choices for each question. Each correctly answered question carries FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question invites NEGATIVE One mark.

Integrated Common Entrance Test for Admission in to M.B.A. and M.C.A Courses of all Universities in Andhra Pradesh and their affiliated colleges (Being conducted on behalf of APSCHE).

Pattern of the Test

The test consists of 200 questions of 1 mark each in the following topics.

ICET Results:

a) Qualifying Marks: The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 25% (i.e.50 marks out of total 200 marks). However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes, no minimum qualifying percentage of marks is prescribed.

b) Ranking: Candidates will be given statewide ranks in the order of merit at the ICET. For the preparation of merit list, in case more than one student scores the same ranks at ICET, the tie will be resolved.

4. Pune University MCA Entrance Exam 2009

1. Pune University MCA Entrance is specifically conducted for admission to Full time courses conducted at Department of Computer Science University of Pune only.
2. 50% seats of the overall sanctioned intake capacity are reserved for reserved category students from the Maharashtra State.
3. Students are advised to follow the instructions about the Entrance Examination on the webpage only and any other information may not be entertained on the department office telephone.

5. Delhi University MCA Entrance Exam - (DU MCA 2009)

Admission to Master of Computer Applications for the academic year 2009-2010 will be made through JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) 2009 being conducted by IIT Kharagpur. Date of JAM Entrance Examination is

6. ICFAI School of Information Technology MCA Test – (IMCAT 2009)

IMCAT 2009 is scheduled on
May 03, 2009 (Sunday) between 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM and will be conducted at 48 Test Centers all over India.

All applicants desirous of admission to the MCA Program of ISIT are required to appear for the ISIT MCA Test (IMCAT) 2009, which will be of 3 hours duration. IMCAT format is with multiple-choice questions and tests the applicant’s analytical ability, mathematical ability, vocabulary, business and computer terminology, functional grammar and reading comprehension.

7. Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test (IIT JAM)

From the Academic Session 2004 - 2005, Indian Institutes of Technology have started conducting a Joint Admission test to M.Sc. (JAM) for admission to M.Sc. and other post-B.Sc. programmes at the IITs.

Pattern of Test Papers

Test Papers for Biotechnology and Computer Applications will be fully Objective Type. These Test Papers have to be answered in an Objective Response Sheet (ORS) by darkening appropriate bubbles using black HB pencil. Since the ORS will be evaluated by electronic means, it is imperative that the instructions given on the ORS are carefully read and followed by the candidates.

The Objective type questions in all the Test Papers will have four choices as possible answers, of which, only one will be correct. There will be negative marking for wrong answers to the Objective type questions in all the Test Papers. For wrong answer to an objective type question, candidates will get negative 1/3 (negative one third) of the maximum marks assigned to that question.

The Computer Applications (CA) test paper comprises of Mathematics, Computer awareness and Analytical ability and General awareness and they will be in the ration 4:2:1.

11. Lucknow University Computer Science Admission Test (LUCSAT) 2009

Lucknow University Computer Science Admission Test is conducted by the Lucknow University for the students who aspire to take admission in MCA program. It is a regular program and intake of students will be restricted to 30. The score obtained through this test is applicable for admission in various reputed institutions of Lucknow.

12. Rajasthan Master of Computer Application Admission Test (RMCAAT) 2009

The Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) conducts Rajasthan Masters of Computer Application Admission Test (RMCAAT). This University provides the MCA course to the candidates on the basis of marks scored in the Entrance test.

13. Punjab Admission to MCA Common Aptitude Test (PAM CAT) 2009

15. VIT Vellore Institute of Technology Entrance Examination

Candidates should have graduated with a full-time degree from any recognized University with a minimum aggregate of 60% for MCA and 50% for M.Tech. Degree programmes.
Consistent Record in X Std. and XII Std. is required.

17. West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam MCA (JECA)

JECA is a written entrance test conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. It is conducted for the admission of students to MCA course offered by the various institutions in West Bengal. Private Engineering colleges, Universities, Government colleges and some of the institutes in West Bengal offer full time MCA course.

20. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University MCA Entrance Exam
